Back to the Grindstone

SadSadly my Spring break ends tomorrow morning! I don't want to go back to work!

Only 16 days until the end of the quarter. But, I know my boys will be a mess after 10 days with no school. Plus most of them are mad at me for not taking them all to the Piston's Game. I told them that their behavior did not get rewarded. I took them to one in January and half of them acted a-fool. Only 6 of them are at a level 3 or higher and were even allowed to go and of that 6, I only approved of 3, so the rest are ticked and so is my Program Manager (not my boss- but the residential unit boss). I do not care. They were my tickets and I was on break. I figure I got to choose who I was going to be responsible for when I am not even being paid to do it. So,  I am REALLY dreading tomorrow because they are going to be biligerent, I just know it.

Ahh, the joys of teaching at a residential unit, where the staff is as dysfunctional as the kids are.

Also- a 38 year old good friend of mine passed away on Friday unexpectedly. She had 3 children; the youngest one is 4. We are all reeling and in shock so that also makes me want to stay home in my nice warm bed and hibernate from life. she will be missed greatly.

Break

Tuesday, March 25, 2008  11:13:57 PM

I am on Spring Break right now. Hence, the ability to sit and breathe for a minute and create this blog.

I teach secondary special education (all subjects) to 12-18 year old adjudicated male students in a residential facility. Basically, I work in hell with little demons. :) I love them though, even if they sometimes suck my will to live.

I will update when I am back at work.

Right now I have 3 IEPs hanging over my head and 10 WRAT4 tests to administer. It never ends. Since they are there 24-7, I might go on one day this week and test a few of them. Ick. Zip it!
